Freightex breakthrough on GPS tracking
Dec 4th, 2015
Freightex has been at the forefront of technology in the logistics industry with its platform which provides unique levels of visibility of empty trucks across Europe. The company has placed a final piece in its IT jigsaw by adding GPS tracking to its online interface. All its suppliers’ tracking data can now be integrated and viewed in the Freightex system, whichever telematics or GPS system they use.
“We have always given our customers access to carriers with the best market prices. GPS integration now gives them the additional confidence that their loads will be closely tracked from collection to delivery whichever sub-contractor we use” says CEO Tim Phillips.
“We are the first company to develop a straightforward way for dedicated sub-contractors and large suppliers to share their GPS data via just a few clicks. It means we can identify very early if a collection or delivery is running late and give our staff more time to find an alternative than currently” he adds. “While we have always managed every load very carefully, this gives us the maximum visibility and control of our suppliers which our customers demand.”
Feedback from the carriers who have signed up has been excellent – the process has been pain-free for them and they are pleased to avoid multiple phone calls requesting the latest truck locations. Freightex aims to get all its carriers to agree to share their GPS data in this way giving 100% coverage of its haulier base.
